CHZON is a global design studio specialising in hospitality design. Founded in Paris in 2009 by Dorothée Meilichzon, the studio is driven by a passion for creating concepts and telling stories. With a background in industrial design, Dorothée is deeply committed to both.
Working primarily in hospitality, the studio has designed over 15 hotels and 50 restaurants and bars, as well as clubs and coffee shops. It has also created a completely new boarding lounge at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and is currently developing a new global retail concept for Acqua di Parma.
The studio pays particular attention to the historical context of each building, the shape of each space, and the details and anecdotes that make every location unique. As a result, every project is distinctive and deeply rooted in its surroundings.
With a strong connection to industrial design and a holistic approach to the guest experience, Dorothée and her team design every aspect of an interior, from furniture, frescoes, lighting and patterns to bespoke pieces crafted by a network of talented artisans, including mosaicists, cabinetmakers, stucco artists, upholsterers, marble specialists and fresco painters. Dorothée also oversees the selection of tableware and staff uniforms, as well as the graphic design of logos and menus.
The studio has completed over 100 projects in Paris, Saint-Tropez, London, the Cotswolds, Ibiza, Menorca, Venice, Basel, Monaco, Val d’Isère, Corsica, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Zhengzhou, Riyadh, Manama, Dubai, Seoul and New York.
Upcoming projects include three hotels in Portugal, one in Cadaqués, Spain, and another in Switzerland, alongside many more surprises to come.
🏅 Dorothée Meilichzon has received numerous awards and accolades from organisations and publications including Maison&Objet, VIA, the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AD, Wallpaper*, House & Garden and Dezeen.
